Place Introduction
Wanwoljeong Pavilion was built by people on earth to enjoy the moon while dreaming of a heavenly world.
It is an underwater pavilion that is facing. It is used as the main stage for the Chunhyang Festival. In the past, there is Gwanghanjeon Hall in Okgyeong, where the Jade Emperor held a ceremony, and there is a legend that Ojakgyo Bridge and the Milky Way meander beneath it, and beautiful fairies enjoyed in the magnificent view of Gyeguan.
According to this legend, Gwanghallu is a reproduction of Gwanghanjeon in the heavens, and this Wanwoljeong pavilion enhances the superb view of Gwanghalluwon by building a traditional Joseon-style pavilion for people on earth to enjoy the moon. It's open.
Wanwoljeong Pavilion is an underwater pavilion newly built in 1971. In 1963, during the tenure of Namwon County Governor Chae Gi-mook (April 5, 1962 to May 31, 1963), an annual plan was established to expand the precincts and purify the surroundings. It is a building. In 1969, an artificial rectangular lake was built by expanding the existing lake, and then it was newly built as an underwater pavilion, which is a two-story pavilion. The name of the pavilion was derived from Wanwolru, the gate tower of the southern gate of Namwonseong in the old days. Even before the Donghak Peasant Movement (1894), Wanwolru, the southern gate of Namwonseong Fortress, was located at the intersection of the current Standard Chartered Bank.
